Job Description Summary

Performs advanced and/or supervisory (senior-level) computer systems analysis work. This software developer will play a fundamental role in helping Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS) manage and publish geospatial information for the state of Texas. Working in an agile environment, the developer will be part of a small core team of developers working on projects under the guidance of the TNRIS Director. Projects are typically oriented around public-facing web sites, services, and mapping applications or internal-facing tools for collaborating and managing TNRIS’ vast archive of geospatial data. Existing applications are primarily written in JavaScript (with node.js) or python, and run in a cloud-based environment. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Director of Texas Natural Resource Information System.
