This hands-on workshop introduces digital accessibility in GIS through an overview of the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), with a focus on best practices for GIS content and organizational processes to support accessible design. Participants will learn to apply these concepts through guided exercises in accessible cartography design and ArcGIS app configuration. Topics will include understanding color contrast in map symbology, keyboard and screen reader navigation in ArcGIS apps, and accessible app configuration. The session emphasizes realistic, repeatable approaches to building accessibility into everyday GIS workflows.

**Participants will require their own laptops for the session. It is recommended to bring an iPad, tablet, or monitor to provide a second screen for tutorials.

Join us to explore ArcGIS Arcade and discover how this versatile expression language can be utilized across the ArcGIS system. Learn how to create customized visualizations, labels, pop-ups, and calculations by dynamically transforming feature and geometry data. ArcGIS Arcade allows users to perform mathematical and logical operations, manipulate text, define user-created functions, and incorporate data from feature attributes, layers, and data stores to generate new values for maps and applications in real-time.

Overview: 

Accelerate your ArcGIS Pro automation skills by leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Claude as your AI coding assistants. In this intensive one-day workshop, you’ll learn to automate geoprocessing tasks, manipulate data with cursors, and control map layouts—all using Python and ArcPy with AI assistance. Whether you’re new to programming or have some Python experience, you’ll leave with practical scripts and the confidence to automate your daily workflows.

**Students will need to provide their own laptops with ArcGIS Pro and a browser. 

Overview: 

The FME software is a great tool for transforming data from and to GIS formats. This class shows you how to use FME Workbench and focuses on the three essential components of FME: Reader, Writers, and Transformers.  Mastering these will allow you to quickly begin building your own transformations.  With hands-on projects, this course will cover many commonly used workflows.  Once you complete this course, you will know how to use FME to process data from a variety of sources including shapefiles, text files, and even spreadsheets

**Attendees should be familiar with the basic use of ArcGIS including the topics covered in our Introduction and Intermediate ArcGIS Pro courses.

GeoAI represents the fusion of machine learning and location intelligence, offering a versatile capability present in numerous ArcGIS products. It aids organizations across various sectors in leveraging their data more effectively. Discover how to harness location data as the common thread to unveil concealed patterns, enhance predictive modeling, and gain a competitive advantage. We invite you to join us in exploring ArcGIS's robust built-in tools, including machine learning and deep learning frameworks.

Overview:

This advanced, hands‑on workshop teaches participants how to design and build high‑performing ArcGIS Online Dashboards for operational and analytical decision‑making. Learners will explore data structuring strategies, advanced dashboard elements, Arcade expressions, selector and action configurations, and the use of URL parameters for deep linking and workflow automation. Through demonstrations and guided practice, participants will create a polished dashboard using best practices in performance, interactivity, and design.

**Participants must have an ArcGIS Online account with User/Creator role, experience with ArcGIS Online Web Maps (configuring layers, pop‑ups, symbology), and a basic understanding of the ArcGIS Dashboards application.

Overview: 

The 2030 Census may feel far away, but the groundwork for an accurate count begins with the Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) program—ensuring a complete and accurate address list for the Census Bureau’s enumeration efforts. This session will explore how comparative analytics and mapping tools can support LUCA by surfacing data gaps, and prioritizing field validation to improve address quality. Better addresses lead to more accurate enumeration and stronger data overall.

Using real-world examples, we will demonstrate how these approaches can help address one of the most significant operational barriers to census participation—missing or inaccurate addresses—while guiding more targeted, community-supported fieldwork and strengthening local address data ahead of and during LUCA.
